Is there anyone in your home with a Restricted Health Condition?
Title 22 80092 defines a Restricted Health Condition as any of the following:
(1)
Use of inhalation-assistive devices
(6) Insulin-dependent Diabetes
(2) Colostomy/ileostomies
(7) Stage 1 & 2 dermal ulcers
(3) Requirement for fecal impaction removal, enemas, suppositories
(8) Wounds
(4) Use of catheters
(9) Gastrostomies
(5) Staph or other serious, communicable infections
(10) Tracheostomies
Important!
If you have anyone with any of these conditions, you must have a written Restricted Health Condition Care Plan.
Many care homes have a Home Health Nurse or even a Nurse consultant provide care to Individuals with Restricted Health Conditions. This is not enough. You have to submit a Care Plan that includes what the Nurse does but also what the Administrator and Staff will do to care for this individual.
Title 22 States:
"The licensee of an ARF or SRF shall develop and maintain, as part of the Needs and Services Plan, a Restricted Health Condition Care Plan"
Also, make sure that you have updated your program design that shows you are now assisting individuals with a Restricted Health Condition.
For 10 or more students, we will go to your care home and teach this or any other of our classes.*
The Health Care Plan includes what care your Nurse provides (written by your nurse) and includes the duties required by Title 22 for the Administrator and staff (written by the Administrator.) We can help the Administrator write your Restricted Health Condition Care Plan **

Clients Who Lack Hazard Awareness or Impulse Control
Clients with Incontinence
Clients with Contractures
